EMU Student Center
Welcome New EMU Students!
Eastern Michigan University wants to welcome you and make your transition as smooth as possible. Fusion New Student Winter Orientation takes place on Sunday, January 4, 2009. During Fusion, you'll experience new people, places and programs that will become your life at EMU. You will learn about campus resources, academic support and student organizations. We have all the details covered for you - representatives from Financial Aid, Student Business Services, the EMU Bookstore, Parking, EagleOne Card (student ID) Office, and more will be available to answer your questions and take care of your last minute needs before classes start.
Orientation is a mandatory program for all new freshmen and is highly recommended for all transfer students. The Winter Orientation fee is $40 and includes the cost of lunch, session materials, the student packet, EMU student planner and one guest. EMU welcomes parents, families, and guests to attend Orientation with you. The cost of one guest is included with your registration; any additional guests will be billed to the student's account for $15 per person.
Our commitment to helping you succeed begins the minute you set foot on campus, where new friends, faculty and staff are instrumental in helping you clarify your goals and realize your vision. The entire four-day program is designed with both commuter and residential students in mind. While resident students move into their campus housing on Saturday, commuter students will travel back and forth to Orientation just as you will during the school year.
